Harry Kane, the English footballer, marked his official debut for Bayern Munich in a substitution appearance during their disappointing 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig, the German Cup champions, in the Super Cup final held in Munich on Saturday.

Entering the field in the second half, the 30-year-old received an enthusiastic reception from the crowd at the Allianz Arena. Despite his presence, Bayern Munich couldn't secure a victory in their season opener.

RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo secured a triumphant hat trick, leading his team to their inaugural Super Cup win.

This development follows Harry Kane's recent announcement on social media, where he revealed his departure from Tottenham Hotspur after a remarkable 19-year tenure. He finalized a reported transfer deal worth $126 million to join Bayern Munich.

During his time at Tottenham, Kane emerged as the club's top all-time scorer, notching 280 goals in 435 appearances across various competitions. Despite his prolific goal-scoring record, he was unable to secure a trophy with the team.

Explaining his decision to depart on the eve of Tottenham's season opener, Kane stated, "I felt that this was the right moment to move on. I wanted to avoid starting the season with unresolved uncertainty about my future."

In a separate video shared across his official social media channels, Kane expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, managers, and the Tottenham fanbase. He conveyed, "I have dedicated myself entirely to make you proud."

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy extended warm sentiments towards Kane, assuring that he would always be welcome back to the club. Levy emphasized Kane's lasting impact on Tottenham's history and expressed understanding of Kane's desire for a fresh challenge, leading to the mutual decision for the transfer.
